It’s sweet that the greats put their differences aside
to play on the same team. I’m talking about LeBron, Kevin.
While they wear new sneakers and tap each other on the rear,
I make a list of things I want: bedding, a new nose, an orgasm.
Like a bad equestrian, I ride around, thinking. The horses
don’t get medals, which makes me angry. A Moroccan stallion
named Cash in Hand, naked save the saddle. I add pommel horse
to the list of things I want, until I remember I’m a woman.
Driving to Walmart, I swap men’s gymnastics for arsenic tampons,
and watch as a mother nurses her son’s nosebleed
on the side of the road.
