I want to be her dog so I’m waiting at the door. We kiss before she's out of her coat. She pulls me close by the belt loops, rests her cheek on my chest. I hold her tight hoping this is how it ends. Us melted together. Toxic-waste-mutant-fusion-love-forever. It doesn’t.
