Color Theory

          Oh blue was
A dangling regular here but found it
Too easy to talk forever.

And red was keen to pull the strings
On every lark the dying sent me on–
Oh I’ll wear your shirt till the sun eats through it!

Then grief set spinning the verdant clocks
All wound a few paces
Before any heart.

Things were green and then you counted
Things are green, but the numbers loosed

Like phosphenes throw your pages
In the sky.
