Bombero

Late June rain
Passing the Bombero
Its rusty hull
Driving down your road, thinking of the story I’d tell later
I’d be confessional, I’d admit that the world
Failed to give itself up
And that our currency would not last forever
That there was a method to grab whatever it was we were after
To gather it up in bunches with the wild motions we used to make
With the willingness that we had
I’d tell of the Iroquois, of my love of honey
Anything to keep the story going
Passing the Bombero
Its rusty hull
Driving down your road, thinking of the story I’d tell later
I’d be confessional, I’d admit that the world
Failed to give itself up
And that our currency would not last forever
That there was a method to grab whatever it was we were after
To gather it up in bunches with the wild motions we used to make
With the willingness that we had
I’d tell of the Iroquois, of my love of honey
Anything to keep the story going
